voice over heard on WFMU
Late Monday I was listening to WFMU in the wee hours of the AM I heard this amazing piece called "voice over" by Canadian composer Brian Joseph Davis.. cut up over music - I didn't catch what it was but boy oh boy was I lovin it - This morning I got to hear it again - and this time I was directed to the WFMU blog and the 411 for this piece.
Voice Over" is the latest project of artist Brian Joseph Davis, who also did the Ten Banned Albums, Burned, Then Played project. in Voice Over, Davis created a text based on lines from 500 different film trailers, then gave the cut-and-pasted text to professional voiceover artist Scott Taylor to read.
give it a listen. LINK
I have been listening to WFMU for years online, and now that I am living here in nyc - I discover - that I STILL have to listen online - caus the reception is non-existant! This station has the best web streaming/archiving system in the known universe and they are exploring broadcasting to cell phones as well! All good radio stations could stand to check out what WFMU is doing
