Apartment For Rent
The new move obviously means new digs, I have been subletting for the month of January. But looking for an apartment these days isn't really a hop and a craigslist skip away. I have been at many conferences with Craig Newmark from craigslist and it is funny - he always says that his biggest problem is the New York realtors, and now that I have spent a few days on the site - I see what he means. There are some real classics - the best are the phishing ads that don't even bother to change the date - so you get something with a title like "this will rent today!!!!" and then in the body it will mention a date say 2 or 3 months old.. and then there is the krazy lady who will only post pictures of some cats instead of.. what the damn place looks like. sigh. Maybe I will end up on the street..
I haven't even had to think about this sort of thing for a long time - been living in the same palace for the past 6 years. The last time I DID have to deal with this though, I made this piece of radio with my fren Jonathan Marston - It still makes me laff, enjoy
