old friends in old places

The best thing about this conference is the people of course, not the ones in the closed off rooms debating about 'structure,' 'process,' and 'mechanisms' but the people who slave away in this strange corner of cyberspace. My old fren Nart Villneneuve is here, and Hossein is here, and my favorite Googler Andrew Mclaughlin.. Yesterday me and Nart snuck away for a quick lunch in the Medina (where we met a French music teacher who thought it quite silly for the UN to hold a summit celebrating the 'free' information society in Tunis - where information is by no means free) Then last night we all went to a 14 person dinner in the Medina as well - yes, I am already done with couscous.
